Now Playing Integration

SongSync can detect the song currently playing on your device from other music players and display it for quick access.

How It Works

This feature is powered by a Notification Listener Service. When you grant this optional permission during the initial setup, SongSync can securely read the media metadata broadcast by other apps to the Android system. This metadata typically includes:

  • Song Title
  • Artist Name
  • Album Art

Privacy Note: SongSync is designed with privacy in mind. The Notification Listener Service is strictly limited to reading media session metadata. It does not read the content of your personal notifications from messaging apps, emails, or any other application.

Using the Feature

Once the permission is granted, simply play music in your favorite player (e.g., Spotify, Poweramp, etc.).

When you open SongSync, you will see a "Now Playing" card at the top of the main song list. This card displays the information for the currently playing track.

  • Quick Access: Tapping this card will take you directly to the Lyrics Fetch screen for that song, pre-filling the title and artist for an immediate search.
  • Automatic Updates: The card will update automatically as the song changes in your music player.

This integration streamlines the process of finding lyrics for what you're listening to right now, without needing to manually search for it in your library.
